Our Mission:
To serve the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Parish Community by building and maintaining a collection of educational, devotional, inspirational, recreational, and reference materials to support the Catholic Faith life of parishioners, ministries and community.

 

Tentative Parish Resource Center Hours:

Sundays, 11:00am (following 10 o’clock Mass) until 2:00pm

Accommodation Requests

The Parish Resource Center is located on the campus of St. Joseph’s Catholic School; therefore access is limited during school hours.  If you are a volunteer with fingerprints and background check on file at the school, access is available during the weekdays by appointment.  After school hours, the Parish Resource Center is available by appointment for the general parish.   We are very flexible in times to access the Resource Center, please just ask. Item Requests

The Parish Resource Center has a wonderful selection of books as well as other media.  If you are looking for a specific title or a recommendation, we are happy to attempt to either locate that item for you.  Please be aware that we are not ordering additional titles for requests, but will review our collection as well as that of other sources on your behalf.  Again, please ask, we will try our hardest to say Yes! Donation Policy

The Parish Resource Center accepts donations of any kind that support and further the mission, goals and objectives of the PRC. The purpose of this policy is to specify the type of donations that the PRC will accept and how the Library will handle these donations.

 

The PRC gratefully accepts gifts and donations.

Gifts are accepted in honor or in memoriam of a person or event. Acknowledgement of such a gift will be made to the donor in writing. Recognition of an honorary or memorial gift is made as outlined below, according to the nature of the gift.

 

The PRC may not be able to accept a donation if the donor places extensive and/or restrictive conditions on the use of the gift by the PRC. The PRC will work with the donor to reach an agreement on the disposition of the gift. However, the PRC will not accept a gift if the donor's wishes cannot be carried out successfully by the PRC for any reason or do not fall within the mission, goals and objectives of the PRC. If this is determined to be so, the donor will be notified in writing and the gift returned.

All gifts accepted by the PRC become the property of the PRC, which has the prerogative to keep or dispose of the items.

1. Gifts of Money

The PRC accepts gifts of money, in any amount.

2. Gifts of Books and Other Resource Materials

a. The PRC accepts gifts of library materials in good condition. This includes, but is not limited to, books, audiocassettes,   CDs, videocassettes, DVDs, periodicals, manuscripts, maps, and pamphlets.

b. All library materials accepted as gifts will be evaluated in accordance with the PRC Collection Development Policy.

c. In most cases, usable library materials that the PRC does not add to its collections will be offered to the Gift Shop for   resale.

d. Gift plates will be placed in or on new items donated and added to the PRC collections or in items purchased by the   PRC with monetary donations. Gift plates to recognize the honorary or memorial gifts are placed in or on the items   donated.

e. The PRC retains the prerogative to determine when the use of a gift plate for recognition is feasible and appropriate.

3. Gifts of Memorabilia and Realia

a. The PRC accepts gifts of real items if those items support the mission of the PRC. Most items in this category   accepted by the PRC will be those that have religious or spiritual significance to the Catholic church.

b. The placement and display of an item is the sole prerogative of the PRC.

c. The PRC will not accept real items that cannot be properly cared for or secured by the PRC.

4. Gifts of Artwork

a. The Library accepts gifts of art with a religious or spiritual significance related to the Catholic Church.

b. The PRC retains the prerogative to accept or reject any work of art for the PRC.

c. The placement and display of an art item is the sole prerogative of the PRC.

d. The PRC will not accept art that cannot be properly cared for or secured by the PRC.

e. At the request of the donor, a small plaque or metal plate, will be placed near the work of art to identify it and recognize the donor or an honoree.

5. Gifts of Furniture and Equipment

a. The PRC accepts gifts of furniture and equipment that support and further the mission, goals and objectives of the PRC. The PRC retains the prerogative to accept or reject any gift of furniture and/or equipment for the PRC.

b. The placement and use of the furniture and equipment is the sole prerogative of the Library

 

6. Donation of any other types of gifts will be considered by the PRC on a case-by-case basis.

 

Location & Directions

The Parish Resource Center is located on the St. Joseph’s Catholic School Campus on St. Augustine Road.  Please enter at the front of the school and make a left towards the gymnasium.  Immediately following the office and cafeteria is a small sign for the Parish Resource Center.  There is a set of double doors there and our room is immediately to your right.  (If you are familiar with the gymnasium, our door is across from the Soda Machines.)  Click Here for Parish Map
